DISCIPLINE

In the month of August, let us focus on perseverance and spiritual discipline, remembering the importance of standing

firm in our faith and trust in God's promises.

Proverbs 12:1 says: "Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid." And in

Hebrews 12:11, we are exhorted: "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it

produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Although discipline may be difficult in the moment, it yields positive and beneficial results in the end.

Spiritual discipline is crucial to keeping our faith strong and active. In 1st of Corinthians 9:24–25, the apostle Paul

compares the Christian life to a race: "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Let us be inspired to persevere, cultivate spiritual discipline, and hold firmly to God's eternal promises, living each day with purpose and determination.
