PRACTICES THAT BUILD
Welcome to the Awakening With God Devotional for September 16th.
Topic: GRATITUDE. Key: CULTURE.
Message of the day: Culture and tradition provide a foundation for enriching practices that strengthen the identity and faith of a community.
Based on the biblical verse from MALACHI 3:16 which says: Those who fear the Lord will talk to his companion every one of them; the Lord hears and hears.
Teaching: Through tradition and cultural exchange, practices are built that consolidate spiritual and community ties.
Biblical Experience: In the history of the people of Israel, the oral transmission of laws and stories strengthened the faith of generations, forging a common identity based on devotion and practices that endure to this day.
Recent Story: In a small village, the Solarte family gathers every year to share traditional stories and teachings, passing on knowledge and values from one generation to the next, reminding everyone of the power and richness of their practices.
Prayer: Lord, give me wisdom to honor and pass on the traditions that build up, strengthening the culture of faith we have inherited.
Action: Participate in and sustain practices that reinforce your cultural and spiritual identity, generating a positive and lasting impact on your community.
Reflection: The power of culture and tradition is in its ability to build what seems ordinary into something inspiring and extraordinary, connecting generations and cultivating a robust and meaningful community.
Let's study the following two Bible Concordances in detail to expand on this concept:
PSALM 78:4
We will not conceal them from His children, but we will tell the coming generation of the praises of the Lord, and His power, and the wonders He has done.
DEUTERONOMY 6:6-7
And these words that I command you today will be upon your heart; and you shall repeat them to your children, and you shall speak of them when you are at home and walking in the way, and when you lie down and when you get up.
Spiritual Echo:
Building practices remind us that culture and tradition are seeds of faith passed down through generations. In every story shared and every gesture inherited, we discover the strength of an identity that unites and inspires us. The ordinary becomes extraordinary when lived with gratitude and passed on with love. By nurturing these practices, we not only preserve the past but also give life to a strong and meaningful community in the present.
God blesses us today and always.
