REMEMBERING THE SACRED
Welcome to the Awakening With God Devotional for October 7th.
Topic: LOVE. Key: COMMEMORATE.
Message of the day: Remembering and commemorating the sacred connects generations and preserves faith.
Based on the biblical verse from ECCLESIASTES 12:1 which says: Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come.
Teaching: Rekindling the remembrance of the sacred nourishes our spiritual identity and further roots us in our faith.
Biblical Experience: At Passover, the Israelites remember their deliverance from slavery, a rite that has been passed down through the generations, reminding them of God's faithfulness.
Recent Story: In one community, each year, Jaime gathers his family to celebrate the faith stories of his ancestors. These gatherings not only honor the past, but they fortify the present and nurture their future hopes.
Prayer: Lord, help us remember your wonderful work in our lives, inspiring us to honor the sacred each day.
Action: Organize moments to reflect on sacred memories, sharing them with those you love to strengthen their faith.
Reflection: Through the reminder of the sacred, we cement our faith, rescuing the essence of who we are in the never-ending story of divine love.
Let's study the following two Bible Concordances in detail to expand on this concept:
DEUTERONOMY 6:12
Take heed that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
JOSHUA 4:7
These stones will serve as a sign for the children of Israel.
Spiritual Echo:
To remember the sacred is to ignite the flame of faith that must never fade. Every divine memory reminds us who we are and to whom we belong. Commemorating what God has done strengthens our spiritual roots and inspires us to live with purpose. Just as Israel celebrates its deliverance, we too must celebrate our story with God. Today, honor the sacred and let His love renew your heart.
God blesses us today and always.
