Devotional: Awakening With God
Title: SENSITIVITY FOR OTHERS
Date: NOV | 13
Topic: DISCIPLINE
Key: EMPATHY
Message of the day: To be empathetic is to demonstrate love and sensitivity for others, following the example of Christ.
Based on ROMANS 12:15 which says: Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
Teaching: Empathy strengthens relationships, allowing us to connect deeply with those around us.
Biblical Experience: Jesus showed empathy when he wept with Mary and Martha over the death of his brother Lazarus, revealing his sensitivity and love for those who were suffering.
Recent Story: Mariano, noticing that his co-worker was going through a difficult time, decided to spend his time helping him. This action developed a loving relationship and extended love and support in the workplace.
Prayer: Lord of love, help me to be sensitive to the needs of others, showing the same love and empathy that you show.
Action: Practice empathy in your everyday interactions, allowing love and sensitivity to inform your actions toward others.
Reflection: Empathy surprises by breaking down barriers and building bridges of meaningful connection, showing the power of our shared love to transform lives.
First bible concordance: GALATIANS 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.
Second bible concordance: EPHESIANS 4:32 But be kind to one another, merciful, forgiving one another, as God also forgave you in Christ.
Spiritual Echo:Sensitivity towards others manifests as empathy, uniting hearts and reflecting Christ's love by rejoicing with the joyful and weeping with the sorrowful. Like Jesus with Mary and Martha, and Mariano with his companion, this profound connection strengthens relationships and lightens burdens, transforming everyday interactions into expressions of mercy and forgiveness. By practicing empathy, we fulfill Christ's teaching, marveling at how shared love breaks down barriers and builds bridges of eternal hope.
God blesses us today and always.
Amen.
